The power shortfall has risen again to 3000MW amidst ongoing canal desilting campaign. Eight to ten hours of load shedding was observed in various parts of the provincial metropolis on Saturday after the Lahore Electric Supply Corporation (Lesco) reduced power supply owing to decreased supply in the national grid due to affected power plants during extreme fog.
The power generation remained 8776MW against a demand of 11706MW. Power generation through hydel was 1049MW, followed by 1287MW through thermal, 6378MW through IPPs and 62MW through RPPs. Supply to KESC remained 710MW.
