In a bid to ward off cold winter waves, Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) decided to distribute 'winter package' worth Rs 9 million among the flood affectees across the country. This was stated by Fazal-ur-Rehman, Country Director HHRD here on Saturday, adding that 'winter package' containing jackets, sweaters, caps and mufflers would be distributed among people of 12 flood-ravaged districts all over the country.
He said that the programme though a limited effort would help provide some respite to the people in the harsh winter season. The distribution would be started from January 10 and would continue till January 20. The organisation in second phase, soon to be started would construct shelter house in flood-ravaged area across the country.
