Case against cricketer Shoaib: Gulberg SHO issued notice to appear before court on January 14

An Additional District and Sessions Judge (AD&SJ) here on Saturday issued notice to Gulberg police Station House Officer (SHO) in a petition seeking registration of a case against former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik allegedly for committing criminal breach of trust and accumulating assets with black money.
The petitioner Ishtiaq Ahmad Chaudhry advocate alleged in his petition that Shoaib Malik indulged in corrupt activities and match fixing. He said an inquiry conducted by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also found around 90,000 pounds in his foreign bank account for which Malik had no record.
The petitioner-lawyer pleaded that a case under section 406 of PPC be registered against respondent Shoaib Malik for committing criminal breach of trust as he shattered the trust of whole nation by his corrupt activities. The petitioner also prayed to the court to order freezing of Shoaib's national and foreign assets which he allegedly accumulated with money earned through match fixing.
He informed the court that the police concerned was approached for registration of a case against Shoaib Malik but police did not entertain his application. The AD&SJ Mehar Muhammad Yousaf after hearing initial arguments issued notice to SHO Gulberg police station and directed him to appear before court on January 14.
