30 more pedestrian bridges built by CDGK to cost Rs 582 million: waiting for Federal Government approval

City District Government Karachi (CDGK) would construct 30 more pedestrian bridges with the estimated cost of Rs 582 million in the city as waiting for the approval from Federal Government. Official at Transport Communication Department (TCD), CDGK told Business Recorder here on Saturday that the city government would construct 30 more pedestrian bridges at various areas in the city where pedestrians are facing immense difficulty in crossing the road.
However, Sindh Government had already approved the PC1 of the plan made by TCD and forwarded it to Federal Government for approval, he added. He said that city government is waiting for the approval from federal government to initiate the plan. CDGK would construct pedestrian bridges at the places where the load of traffic is too high and people face problems to cross the road.
The pedestrian would be constructed with the estimated cost of Rs 582 million. Out of 30 bridges some to be built at I.I. Chundrigarh road, Shahrah-e-Faisal, M.A Jinnah Road and Rashid Minhas Road. While construction of ten bridges are in progress which include at University Road opposite Sindh Technical Board, University Road near Jail Chowrangi and near Millennium Mall at Rashid Minhas Road.
