Taxi stand contract: LHC dismisses petition seeking renewal

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Friday dismissing a petition seeking renewal of taxi stand contract at Railway Station observed that such contract could only be granted through auction. The petitioner Riaz Cheema submitted that he was awarded a one-year contract of taxi stand at railway station and he run the contract without any inconvenience.
He said the contact was going to be expired and the authorities concerned announced auction to award contract for the next term. The petitioner pleaded that he had the right to continue with the contract as he was ready to deposit 15 percent additional security than the previous.
