University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) will ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University Putra Malaysia (UPM) to develop the teaching, research and professional services between them. A six-member delegation led by Chairman Board of Directors Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Datuk Jalaluddin Syed Salim will visit Pakistan to sign the MoU.
Pakistan's High Commissioner in Malaysia Masood Khalid termed the signing of MoU as a positive move and said such co-operation between the institutions of higher learning would also reinforce people to people contacts between Pakistan and Malaysia.
He said the objectives of MoU are to identify areas of mutual interests, exchange of teaching and research personnel, exchange of students; and collaboration in research projects. He said UPM was striving to enhance and strengthen its teaching and educational excellence by entering into collaborative arrangements with UVAS, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences having 128 years of experience in veterinary education would endeavour to improve, synthesise and synergies its teaching, research and services in collaboration with UPM.
The other members of the delegation include Professor Tan Sri Datuk Dr Nik Mustapha, Vice Chancellor, UPM, Professor Datin Paduka Dr Aini Ideris, Deputy Vice Chancellor (UPM) and Associate Professor Dr Bashir Ahamd Fateh Mohamed, Dean, Faculty (UPM). The delegation will remain in Pakistan from January 6-11.
