Chief minister stresses importance of modern knowledge for new generation
Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said without providing new generation with modern knowledge, the dream of putting the country on the road of progress cannot be materialised. He said that keeping in view the importance of education sector, the present government has given top priority to it and revolutionary measures have already been taken.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Members Provincial Assembly belonging to various districts, here on Thursday. The assembly members apprised the chief minister of development projects and problems of the people of their respective areas. Talking to the parliamentarians, the chief minister said that service to the people and provision of basic facilities to them is the agenda of his government and all resources are being utilised for this purpose.
He said that Punjab Educational Endowment Fund and establishment of IT labs in more than 4,000 high schools of the province were yielding positive results. Male and female students facing financial constraints were benefiting from Punjab Educational Endowment Fund and continuing their studies, he added.
He said that by setting up of IT labs, foundation of revolution has been laid in the education sector and now the new generation was becoming fully aware about the significance of modern knowledge in the world.
He said that Daanish Schools project was also a revolutionary step, which will result in provision of all modern facilities to the male and female students of backward areas.
