Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) provides a platform for the women entrepreneurs of South Punjab to work together in a spirit of trust and understanding. It also aims to accelerate the process of economic and social development in member countries.
This was stated by President MCCI, Shahid Naseem Khokhar while inaugurating English language course for women at the chamber on Thursday. Khokhar said, "we would provide all possible facilities to women entrepreneurs to help them get access to international markets." He added that women entrepreneurs are an 'arm of MCCI' with the objective of developing and promoting the entrepreneurs in South Punjab.
He observed that women entrepreneurs are often disadvantaged due to their traditional role as voiceless caregivers of family and children. Whereas a number of governmental and non-governmental initiatives in this area aim at easing access to finances, which is the major obstacle for many women entrepreneurs, other areas of entrepreneurial interests are often neglected.
