ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi on Saturday recorded statements of eight more prosecution witnesses in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto murder case.

Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court-1 Shahid Rafiq later suspended the hearing of the case to Dec 17.

The decision was taken while hearing an application filed by the wife of former President Pervaz Musharraf accused in the Benazir murder case. The applicant expressed no-confidence on the court. Sabah Musharraf filed the application requesting to refer the case to another court as the applicant did not have confidence in the current court’s proceeding.

Contesting the court decisions of declaring Musharraf an absconder and ordering confiscation of his property, Sabah Musharraf claimed that Musharraf gifted the Farm House situated in Chak Shahzad to her in 2002. In addition, she has joint bank accounts with Musharraf. In her plea, she urged that no property or bank account could be frozen or confiscated as they carried no individual title on them. During the course of arguments, the prosecution stated that Sabah Musharraf did not have her name or signature on the application. The court allowed the request for suspension of proceedings in Benazir murder case till Dec 17 after it recorded statements of eight prosecution witnesses.
