Heroin, charas seized

Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell (DEC) on Tuesday seized contraband Heroin and Hashish (Charas) from an outbound courier parcel at International Mail Office (IMO), Karachi. According to details, the Customs DEC staff, while keeping surveillance on the outgoing mail at Pakistan Post's IMO, at Shara-e-Faisal, intercepted a registered parcel booked from PECHS Post Office for Thailand.
A thorough search of the parcel led to the recovery of 150g hashish and 50g fine quality white heroin that was artfully concealed inside title pages of two text books. A prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 has been registered and efforts are continuing to nab the person responsible for the offence.-PR
