The transporters would decide future course of action in connection with increasing the fares by Rs 2 after the recent price hike of petroleum products in an emergency meeting on Tuesday (today).
The transporters now this time are seriously thinking to increase the fares by Rs 2, as they may be considering a strike call at initial phase. A leading transporter informed that the transporters would demand about the abolition of recent hike on diesel prices in the meeting or would give a strike call.
When contacted President, Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI), Syed Irshad Hussain Bukhari about the transporters' strategy, KTI President said all the decision would be made with consultations in the meeting. Bukhari said the recent hike on petroleum products had created severe problems and an emergency meeting had been called on Tuesday in order to discuss the situation created after the raise on diesel prices.
