The newly elected president of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Senator Haji Ghulam Ali has said that he will play the role of bridge between the government and business community. Talking to media after the culmination of a reception and rally held here at Chowk Yadgar after his election as president of the FPCCI, he said that his election reflects the unity of the industrialists and traders.
He said that the traders and industrialists of the whole country have a message of peace, love and sincerity for the government. He said that he was hopeful that the government will help heal the wounds of the business community. He said that good relations between the government and business community will help bring progress and development and elimination of the unemployment.
Senator Haji Ghulam Ali alleged that the Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) bill has been introduced on the whims of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He said that the government is following anti-traders and industrialists' policy since last three years. He also attributed the closure of the 80 percent industries to the policies of the government. He said that bringing reforms the government would have to follow the proposals and recommendations of the traders and industrialists.
He said that his message for the world is technical assistance to the terrorism affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and priority to the province in trade. He also called for SME loans from Rs 0.1 million to Rs 1 million to small and medium traders and industrialists of the province. The FPCCI chief said that the establishment of separate chamber for small traders is not in last stages, which he said will be given an office of the vice presidentship in the federation.
On this occasion, the newly elected vice presidents Mohammad Akbar Khan and Fazal Elahi expressed their resolve of the redressal of the complaints of traders and industrialists. They said that Regional Office of the FPCCI would be established shortly in Peshawar. President, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Haji Haleem Jan, president, Tajir Ittehad, Haji Ghufran Saraf, president, Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malik Farid, president, Currency Dealers Association, Haji Abdullah Jan, Arbab Najibullah, Malik Raza of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others addressed the meeting.
Earlier, the newly elected president FPCCI, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, and vice presidents, Mohammad Akbar Khan and Fazal Elahi were accorded warm welcome on arrival from Karachi and were taken in a motorcade through Shoba Chowk to Khyber Bazaar and Qissa Khawani to Chowk Yadgar. They were also showered with rose petals through out their way.
