LHC issues notices to Managing Director SNGPL

The Lahore High Court on Monday issued notices for Tuesday (today) to Managing Director SNGPL, General Manager and Director Billing in a petition of a citizen who received gas bill of Rs 950,000 for the month of December, 2010. Petitioner Muhammad Amjad contended that he ran a dry-cleaning shop in Sherakot locality and his average gas bill for the whole last year was Rs 50,000 while, for the month of November 2010 he had received the gas bill of Rs 37000, which he duly paid.
However, the petitioner said, for the month of December the SNGPL issued him bill of Rs 950,000 and also cut off his connection for non-payment. He therefore prayed the court to direct the respondent department to withdraw the bill in question and restore his gas connection without any charges.
