Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) has approved 11 development schemes under the programme provision of missing facilities in the institutions of higher education, rehabilitation of rural water supply and peoples works programme.
Development funds for Rs 180 million have been allocated for these schemes. It was disclosed in the meeting of DDWP chaired by Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain in which Director Development Dr Tariq Sardar Director Colleges, Director Colleges Ghulam Muhammad Jakkar, SE Buildings Chaudhry Gazanfar Ali, DCO Chiniot Dr Irshad Ahmad, XEN Buildings GA Farooq and other concerned officers were participated.
The chair urged upon relevant officers for timely completion of development projects approved by DDWP. It was also told that rehabilitation of rural water supply scheme in Chak 215/R.B Faisalabad and Chak No 327 and 328/JB T. T. Singh with the funds of Rs 91.525 million would be completed while construction of drain and brick pavement including additional work of rural water supply in chak No 327 Toba Tek Singh with the total cost of Rs 10 million were also approved in the meeting.
Project Director Dr Riaz Ahmad Chaudhry, told the chair that work for establishment of ICU in emergency department, library, internet, lab and theatre, hospital laundry, generator/boiler room, indoor porch and cabin in CCU have been completed and while angiography machine, camma camera, digital X-ray ultrasound machine, blood bank and two generators of 750 and 500 KVA had also been installed. He further said that the facilities of 406 heart surgeries, 3,111 angiography and 536 angioplasty were provided during the year 2010 while 90,486 patients were checked in OPD department of FIC.
