Political ping-pong

In the 1980s, the army establishment supported PML, religious parties and formed MQM. It opposed PPP and ANP. In the 1990s, the army establishment sometimes supported and sometimes opposed PML, PPP. It opposed MQM and ANP.
In the 2000s, the army establishment broke PML-N and PPP-P and united them as PML. It formed MMA and broke it later. It opposed PPP and ANP and supported them later. It supported MQM. It opposed PML-N.
Thus the three-decade-old political ping-pong game goes on. The biggest losers in this game are those political parties, which are treated like ping pong balls. And yet its leaders stood up and gave lectures on democracy. What a shame.
