Begum Tazeen Faridi passes away

The patron of All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA), Begum Tazeen Faridi, passed away on Sunday after a brief illness. She was about 90 years of age. An official of APWA said that the burial would take place on Monday. Begum Faridi had also served as the Sindh Minister for Social Welfare.
According to Ms Yasmin Dastur, vice-president of APWA, Begum Faridi had devoted her entire life for the betterment of women and children in Pakistan. She said that Begum Faridi remained associated with APWA since its inception in 1949.
