Corn and soyabean export premiums at the US Gulf Coast were mostly steady on Thursday, with supplies building in the pipeline amid slow demand. Traders said export demand was subdued at year's end but were optimistic that interest will pick up in coming weeks.
Barge freight rates on the Illinois River was lower amid a lack of demand, but steady at St. Lous on the Lower Ohio River USDA said corn export sales last week totalled 756,600 tonnes, on the low end of estimates for 750,000 to 1 million. Old-crop sales down 17 percent from previous week.
