At least eight people were killed and forty others injured in a deadly collision involving 25 vehicles in Multan and other parts of the country due to thick fog. At least three persons died and another 25 injured when 30 cars jumbled at Bahawalpur Road, Multan as a result of which some three persons died and 25 people got injured.
The injured have been shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan. Rescue 1122 and police are making efforts to remove the destroyed vehicles from the site. In other parts of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa freezing conditions and heavy snow is causing problems with major roads being forced to close. Similarly, another five people died and another 15 injured on Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway near Charsadda Interchange early Monday morning. According to Police, the death toll could rise and several injured are reportedly in critical conditions.
