Chief Executive Officer, Ali Akbar Group, Saad Akbar Khan has said that RGST would have negative effects on agriculture. He said that agriculture is the backbone of the country's economy. Pakistan is an agricultural country and it can include in the developed countries if government pays attention to this sector. He expressed these views while talking to Business Recorder.
Saad Akbar said that fertilisers, pesticides and other things used in the agriculture sector have been imported and with the implication of 15 percent RGST, these things would increase by 30 percent. The time has come when revolution should be brought in the agriculture sector to make this country a developed one.
He said that government is taking interest in the agriculture sector that is producing positive results. It is the priority of Ali Akbar Group to provide complete guidance to farmers to decrease their problems.
Saad Akbar said that technical field staff comprising 500 members is providing guidance and help to farmers in the fields. We have also introduced the system of telemarketing for the guidance of farmers so that farmers could ask the solution of their problems from the agriculture experts.
