Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief, Nawaz Sharif has categorically stated that he is not a friendly opposition and called upon the government to mend its ways before the time runs out. Addressing a public gathering here on Sunday, Nawaz said that, "I have been tauntingly dubbed as a friendly opposition, I am not pro-government, it does not deserve such an attitude".
Nawaz asserted that he was the one who brought revolution in the country, "We are the one who brought revolution; the nation is running out of patience and it is high time for the government to act and eradicate corruption from its ranks", he said. "I am a revolutionary man", said Nawaz Sharif.
He deplored that the most corrupt people were being hired at key posts. He said that Pakistan didn't not have a good history, "the dictator always toppled the public elected governments; some hanged the public leaders others ousted them".
"Musharraf exiled me but today he is sitting in exile," the PML-N chief said sarcastically. "I detest that type of democracy in which the leaders lick the boots of others", Sharif asserted while indirectly referring to the US.
He hailed the people of AJK who supported Pakistan in the face of all the miseries. The whole world pressurised me to not to carry out nuclear attacks.
Regarding the government, he said that it was not too late for those at the helm and added that they could still reform themselves.
Concluding his address the PML-N chief vowed to make an independent government in future. Earlier, Nawaz formally launched Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Strict security measures have taken on this occasion in the city. In AJK, PML-N will be headed by former President and Prime Minister of Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan.
