Inter-university Athletics Championship: PU student wins five gold medals

Sehrish Asghar, a student of Punjab University Hailey College of Banking and Finance (HCBF), has grabbed five gold medals in 400m, 800m, 1500m, 100 x 4m and 400 x 4m race in Pakistan Inter-University Athletics Championship, organised from December 20 to 21 last by Higher Education Commission in collaboration with Punjab University at Punjab Stadium.
A total number of 15 universities from all over Pakistan participated in the games, which were won by Punjab University by securing 380 record numbers. On this brilliant performance, HEC has selected Sehrish Asghar for the 31st National Games starting from December 25 to 31 next in Peshawar.
Earlier, the athlete also demonstrated outstanding performance in inter-university, national and chief minister's tournaments. Keeping in view her performance, it is expected that she will win laurels for Punjab University and HEC in the forthcoming competition.
All these successive successes of HCBF has been made possible by the generous funding of PU Vice-Chancellor, Dr Mujahid Kamran and keen interest of Principal, Professor Dr Khawja Amjad Saeed for the promotion of sports.
