Speakers at a seminar held by Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharine paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for creation of a homeland for the Muslims of South Asia. A declaration released by the seminar said "we express our satisfaction over Quaid-e-Azam's commitment and sincerity for the cause of self-determination of the Kashmiri people".
The participants also expressed gratitude for the political, moral and diplomatic support that has always been extended to the people of Kashmir by the government and people of Pakistan for Kashmiris' liberation movement. They denounced in strong terms the state terrorism unleashed by India to support Kashmiris' voice for freedom and condemned the killing of 122 peaceful protestors during last five months.
The declaration urged the world community to impress upon India to withdraw its troops from occupied Kashmir, release Hurriyet detainees, revoke draconian laws and reveal facts about those disappeared in custody during last 22 years. Speakers lauded Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's principled stand on the Kashmir issue.
They said that Quaid-e-Azam remained keenly interested in Kashmiris cause, which was praise worthy. Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Quaid-e-Azam declared Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan.
He asked the world community to take notice of Indian atrocities in the occupied Kashmir. Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, Left. General Talat Masood (Retd), Left. General Hameed Gul (Retd), Dr Tanvir A. Khan, Professor Dr Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema, Sheikh Tajamal Islam and Agha Murtaza also spoke on the occasion.
