Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state while his golden principles, faith, unity and discipline are beacon of light for the new generation.
These views were expressed by renowned nuclear scientist and architect of Pakistan nuclear programme, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan while addressing the concluding session of three-day celebrations organised to mark birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam at Ghulam Qadir Hall, Faizul Islam Complex here on Saturday. He said that Quaid-e-Azam was not only liberator of the nation but he laid down foundation of an independent and sovereign state through his wisdom and untiring efforts also.
Terming Qauid-e-Azam a true sympathiser and well-wisher of the Muslims, he said, Allah Almighty selected him for the creation of Pakistan. "Keeping in view the example of the Father of the Nation, we were able to make Pakistan a nuclear power in just seven years," he added.
Welcoming Dr Abdul Qadeer, President, Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam, Mian Siddique Akbar said that Pakistan was able to become a nuclear power owing to patriotism and creative capabilities of Dr Abdul Qadeer. Minan Siddique said that before the creation of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam visited Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam at Committee Chowk , Rawalpindi in 1944 and appreciated its services for the orphan and destitute children.
Senior Vice President, Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam, Dr Riaz also spoke on the occasion. Later, students from educational institutions affiliated with Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam presented national songs and tableaus and took part in a declamation competition. In their speeches, the students conveyed the message of unity, faith and discipline. Dr Qadeer distributed prizes among position holder students. Intellectuals, writers, poets, teachers, parents and students attended the function.
