PBM to pay Rs 5000 per month to families of martyred cops

In recognition of the sacrifices rendered by officers and officials of Islamabad Police, Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) has decided to pay Rs 5000 monthly to the families of martyred cops. Islamabad Police have rendered great sacrifices in war against terrorism and its officers and officials were martyred during their duty to make Islamabad a safe and secure place, said Zamurd Khan, Managing Director PBM here on Saturday.
"As an acknowledgement to their sacrifices and services, the PBM will give Rs 5,000 per month to the family of each martyred personnel of Capital Police," Khan said while addressing the certificate awarding ceremony to police officers who attended workshop on human and child rights at Police Line Headquarters.
Managing Director PBM said that it is characteristics of the civilised society not only to have the know-how of the rights of each other, but also have the respect, therefore, adding training law enforcers in this regard will help them make more responsible towards safeguarding rights of their brethren. He also ensured complete co-ordination with Islamabad police to curb menace of professional begging.
DIG (Headquarters) Kamaluddin Tipu said policemen are being sensitised towards the protection of child and human rights. He said training programmes are being arranged for them, which would help them realise the importance of human rights protection. He said the participants of these programmes will mobilise their other colleagues towards the issue, enabling them to protect human rights and improve police image.
DIG (Headquarters) said that Islamabad police has launched an aggressive campaign against the professional alm-seekeers and co-operation with PBM in this regard will continue. On the occasion, two ASPs, one DSP, two Inspectors, Four ASIs were given special certificates for attending the workshop. Earlier, MD PBM visited National Martyrs' Monument and laid floral wreath. He also offered Fateha and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the bereaved families courage.
It is to mention that police employees are to be taught about human and child rights and gender-based violence in a series of workshops planned for Islamabad police. DIG (Headquarters) Kamaluddin Tipu, SSP (Headquarters) Ahmed Mukarram, SP (Headquarters) Abdul Ghafar Qaisarani, DSP Headquarters Ashraf Shah, DSP PTC Bakhtiar Ahmed Lillah and other police officials were also present on the occasion.
