Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Sunday said the address of Chinese Premier to the joint sitting of the parliament sent a strong messages to the enemies of Pakistan. Talking to media after the address of Chinese Premier, senator Rehman Malik said the speech, which covered many aspects of Sino-Pak friendship spanning over decades, reflected emotional attachment of the people and government of China with the government and people of Pakistan.
Malik said the premier's speech must have rung alarm bells to the enemies of Pakistan, which cast covetous eyes on its peace, stability, progress and prosperity. "It's a strong message to the enemies (of Pakistan)".
He further said the way the parliament expressed solidarity and oneness over Sino-Pak friendship is a crystal clear manifestation of the fact that Pak-China friendship is eternal.
Expressing his views, Pakistan's Ambassador to China, Masood Khan described the speech as historic, which reflected sincerity and love of the government and people of China with the government and people of Pakistan. He added that the Chinese premier paid tribute to the people of Pakistan.
Senator Professor Khurshid termed the speech historic and urged the government to fully exploit the tremendous potential, which existed between Pakistan and China. "Let's not miss this historic moment," he said and asked the government to work out on MoUs being signed during the visit and meet the targets," he said. In his remarks, MNA Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said the premier honoured the parliamentarians, people and government of Pakistan by stepping down the floor of the and coming forward to shake hands with the parliamentarians. "It's never been happened before that someone come down the floor and shook hand with the parliamentarians," he remarked.
Senator Zahid Khan said the speech of Chinese premier spoke volumes of Sino-Pak friendship and love between the government and people of the two countries. Also, Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari said that the speech not only reiterates strong friendship bond between Pakistan and China, but has also strengthened it.
