China to help build new dams: Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that we have a very long-standing friendship with China and China has helped Pakistan in every hour of need. He said that economy of China is progressing by leaps and bounds and Pakistan should take the advantage from the development of China.
He expressed these views while talking to mediamen at local airport here on Sunday. Qureshi said that China would help Pakistan in constructing new dams and in the solar energy projects. He said that many new agreements have been signed between Pakistan and China and now both countries would trade in their own currencies.
Foreign Minister said that China has announced a grant of $10 million for the flood affectees and also announced to give $400 million loan on easy terms. "New roads and bridges destroyed during the recent floods would be constructed with the co-operation of China", he added. Qureshi further said that the grant announced by China would be spent on the rehabilitation of the flood affectees.
Responding a question, Qureshi said that our economy would become stable with the co-operation of China in the banking sector. The world's largest bank ICBC would soon open in Pakistan in this regard. He further said that both countries would exchange the delegations of youth to share their knowledge and ideas in different sectors.
Talking about the viewpoint of Chinese' leadership about the issue of Kashmir, FM said that viewpoint of China on the Kashmir issue was very clear and there was no elasticity in it. "We have started working to convert the Pak-China relationships to next generation", he said.
