LONDON: Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Friday after Britain scuppered plans for a new EU treaty to tackle the eurozone debt crisis.
London's FTSE 100 index dropped 0.67 percent to 5,446.85 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 slid 1.16 percent to 5,806.49 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 0.94 percent to 3,066.46.
