Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has accorded return of medical teams of Health Department Punjab, sent to Ataabad for providing medical assistance to Hunza Lake affectees. The teams will leave Hunza on Monday, July 05 (today).
On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, these medical teams stayed in Hunza for 37 days and during this period, visited camps set up in Altast, Bultist, Aliabad, Menapun, Ganesh Camp, Nagar Khas and surrounding areas.
They provided medical aid to 27863 affected persons besides providing more than five tons of free medicines among them. The patients who were cured include 7805 male, 12763 females, 6563 children, and 733 pregnant women. During the period, delivery cases were also conducted by the gynaecologists wherein two baby boys and one baby girl was born while one of them was scissors case. One woman was also operated for appendices. The newly born baby boy was named as Shahbaz Sharif.
