BUCHAREST: Romania's finance ministry rejected all bids at a tender aimed at selling March 2022 treasury bonds on Thursday, the fifth consecutive failed auction this month, central bank data showed.
Debt managers, who had planned to sell 300 million lei ($77.34 million) worth of the paper, last auctioned it off in September at an average yield of 2.71 percent. On Thursday, bids amounted to 366 million lei.
Local money markets have faced a liquidity squeeze in recent weeks. The ministry has said it has a comfortable financing buffer.
