PMEX index closes at 3,003 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's commodity index on Tuesday closed at 3,003 points.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at Rs 4.429 billion and the number of lots traded was 8,543, says PMEX release here on Wednesday.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 1.984 billion, followed by currencies through COTS Rs 1.079 billion, WTI crude oil Rs 771.451 million, platinum Rs 264.221 million, silver Rs 172.059 million, copper Rs 51.415 million, DJIA Rs 40.794 million, NSDQ 100 Rs 28.741 million, SNP 500 Rs 14.493 million, natural gas Rs 12.987 million and Brent crude oil Rs 9.578 million.

In agricultural commodities, 8,090 lots of red chilli amounting to Rs 1.253 million were traded.
