PMEX index closes at 2,990 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's commodity index on Thursday closed at 2,990 points; with the total traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at Rs 5.141 billion.

The number of lots traded was 14,162, says press release on Friday.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 2.009 billion, followed by WTI crude oil Rs 1.570 billion, currencies through COTS Rs 1.179 billion, platinum Rs 180.388 million, silver Rs 116.573 million, copper Rs 55.576 million, natural gas Rs 24.801 million and Brent crude oil Rs 4.900 million.
