ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Norway, Cecilie Lantsverk called on Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik on Thursday and thanked his support in the arrest of fugitive Muhammad Aslam.
During the meeting, Rehman Malik brought the matter of Umar Farooq who had run away with two children and presently living in Norway.
He asked Ms. Cecilie Lantsverk to convey his request to Mrs. Grete Falemo, Norwegian Minister for Justice and Police to take her personal interest in the deportation of Umar Farooq at the earliest as Umar Farooq is fugitive and Supreme Court of Pakistan has also taken notice of his scot-free movement being a fugitive and under red notice.
The Minister appreciated Ms. Cecilie Lantsverk for her efforts and role in strengthening the relations between the two countries.
She appreciated Pakistani community working in Norway and said that their role is equally important in the development of Norway.
