ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Tuesday Pakistan wants harmonious relations with international community based on equality. She said that no compromise would be made on national interest.
Talking to PTV, the Information Minister said that Pakistan's integrity, sovereignty and national interest are supreme and they must be respected.
She said that Defence Committee of the Cabinet has endorsed the decisions made in the meeting of the cabinet.
Dr Firdous said that the committee had expressed complete solidarity with martyrs and paid tribute to services rendered by them.
She said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had consulted all the coalition partners and it was unanimously decided not to attend the Bonn Conference being held in Germany on Afghanistan issue.
She said that the decision of the cabinet about the conference reflects the national desire.
Dr Firdous said all the institutions of the country including government and security forces were united on the national interest.
