BEIJING: Pakistan's Ambassador to China, Masood Khan met with Zhang Zhijun, China's Executive Vice Foreign Minister and Party Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tuesday to brief him about the evolving situation after November 20, NATO airstrikes at Pakistani check-posts.
Ambassador Khan on the occasion also expressed thanks to the Chinese government for its solidarity with Pakistan.
On Monday, the spokesman of China's Foreign Office issued a statement expressing China's deep shock over the incident. Later, Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar telephoned her Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi, who also reiterated Beijing's firm support to Pakistan.
