The Karachi Port handled 119,026 tonnes of cargo including 90,870 tonnes import and 28,156 tonnes export cargo including 5,329 empty and loaded containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The cargo comprised of 72,526 tonnes dry cargo including 59,550 tonnes containerised and general cargo; 3,176 tonnes fertiliser; 3,361 tonnes canola; 1,957 tonnes rock phosphate; 4,332 tonnes cement and 46,500 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Three ships namely Kota Harum, Wan Hai-501 and Hyundai Emperor sailed out to sea during the report period. Eight vessels viz Asian Carrier, Hyun Jin KS 3, MT Johar, Manon, YM Europe, Manon, Dandle, Jakarta Express and Abtin-1 are currently at the berths. Three ships namely LTC Calvin P. Titus, Alliance ST Louis and Manon expected to sail on Saturday, while another seven vessels viz Dandle, Jakarta Express, Gulf Tiger, TS Qingdao, Asian Carrier, YM Europe and MT Johar are expected to sail on Sunday.
BBC Scotland due to arrive on Saturday, while ten ships namely Sunniva, Quetta, Maasen, Mare Thracium, Uni Promote, Tiger Spled, Olympia, Bunga Pelangi Dua, Lanka Mahapola and African Orchid are due to arrive on Sunday.
Two ships namely MT Iron Monger-3 and MV Cemtex Orient sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. A total of four vessels viz BBC Kusan, AL-Soor-II, Sichem Marseille and Iron Monger-5 carrying project cargo, HSD oil, MEG and furnace oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
Seven ships namely MV Rousse, MV Nova Noor, Terrisha, Maersk Novazzano, MSC Michele, MT Iron Monger-5 and MV Cemtex Orient are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sulphur, HSD oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely Al-Soor-II and Al-Asir carrying furnace oil and containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Fotco Terminal respectively on Saturday. Seven vessels viz Corn Hill, Al-Mariya, CV Puelo, MV Geni-3, MT Bright World, MT Sichem Marselle and MV Captain Diamantes are due to arrive.
