Prices of fruits, vegetables remain stable

ISLAMABAD: The prices of fruits and vegetables overall remained stable after minor fluctuation in price of some items in the federal capital here on Thursday.
According to the Islamabad Market Committee price list issued here, the prices of various fruits and vegetables showed no major difference from the price list of the previous week.
According to price list, potato was sold at Rs 40/36 per kilogram, Onion Rs 25/35, Tomato Rs 48/55, Ginger Rs 160/125, Garlic (Quetta) Rs 135/110, Garlic Local 145/130, Lemon Rs 120/90, Lady Finger Rs 48/40, Pumpkin Rs 35/48, Brinjal Rs 55/46, Peas Rs 90/135, Fresh Bean Rs 50/58, Tinda Walaiti (Imported gourd small) Rs 90/70, Cucumber Rs 46/52, Capsicum Rs 70/55, Green Chilli Rs 35/46, Cauliflower Rs 70/45, Cabbage Rs 12/15, Bitter gourd Rs 45/60, Green Zucchini Rs 55/70, Spinach Rs 35/24, Yam Rs 35/30 and Maroo Rs 40/46, Carrot Rs 46/582, Chicken Rs 135 and Egg per dozen Rs 99.
Likewise, the rates of fruits per kilogram of high and medium quality in Islamabad are as follows: Apricoat Rs 100/60,Apple China Rs 230/170,Banana Pak Rs 80/50,Banana India Rs 155/115,Mango (Chaunsa) Rs 280/225, Pear China Rs 165/130, Melon Rs 30/20, Mango (White Chaunsa) Rs 120/80, Mango (Fajri) Rs 70/45, Mango (Sindhri) Rs 110/75, Mango (Desi) Rs40/25, Mango (Anwar Ratool) Rs 110/75, Mango (Langra) Rs60/40, Mango (Dosehri) Rs70/45, Apple (Gaja Kotta) Rs95/65, Mango (Chaunsa Kala) Rs 75/50.
The people are asked to ensure that they purchased vegetables and fruits as per rate list and inform authorities at 051-9108084, in case of any compliant against shopkeepers.
