HYDERABAD: Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad Asif Ali Memon has fixed the rate of milk at Rs64 per litre and warned the milk sellers of banning transportation of milk to Karachi if they fail to comply with the orders.
The DC issued the directive here on Saturday while presiding over a meeting with representatives of the traders at his Shahbaz Building office.
Memon said the traders had to conform to the rate of milk and other edible items that were fixed by the government.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the police and Revenue Department officers to conduct spot checks at the milk shops and take action against the shopkeepers found overcharging. The government will keep a strict check on the price of milk, he warned.
