MQM candidates among highest vote getters

Three MQM candidates for National Assembly have secured top positions in terms of votes in the country in the February 18 general elections. According to the statistics of the provisional results announced so far by the Election Commission, Sufyan Yousuf (NA 246 Karachi VIII) secured 186,933 votes against his opponent Sohail Ansari of PPP who got only 6,741.
Another MQM candidate Shaikh Salahuddin (NA 244 Karachi VI) polled 174,044 votes against his opponent Ghulam Qadir of PPP who secured 9,272. Dr Nadeem Ehsan also of MQM (NA 247 Karachi IX) returned with 168,007 votes against his PPP opponent Sathi Ishaq's 13,963.
