KAMPALA: The Ugandan shilling weakened on Wednedsay, weighed down by dollar demand from fuel importers and commercial banks looking to beef up their positions.

At 1009 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,630/3,640, weaker than Tuesday's close of 3,625/3,635.
