Prices of fruits, vegetables remain stable

ISLAMABAD: The prices of fruits and vegetables overall remained stable with minor fluctuation in price of some items in the federal capital here on Monday.

According to the Islamabad Market Committee Price List issued here, the prices of various fruits and vegetables showed no major difference from the price list of the previous week.

According to price list, potato was sold at Rs 28 per kilogram, Onion Rs 34, Tomato Rs 55, Ginger Rs 105, Garlic (Quetta) Rs 168, Garlic Local 90, Lady Finger Rs 110, Pumpkin Rs 60, Brinjal Rs 42, Peas Rs 72, Tinda Walaiti (imported gourd small) Rs 44, Cucumber Rs 29, Capsicum Rs 43, Green Chilli Rs 49, Cauliflower Rs 24, Cabbage Rs 20, Bitter Gourd Rs 96, Green Zucchini Rs 88, Spinach Rs 13, Raddish Rs 23, Turnip Rs 34, Yam Rs 84, Maroo Rs 33, Carrot Rs 36, Chicken Rs 157 and Egg per dozen Rs 80.

Likewise, the rates of fruits per kilogram of high and medium quality in Islamabad are as follows: Apple (kala kalo) Rs 145/100, Apple Golden Rs 132/97, Apple White Rs 120/68, Apple China Rs 120/68, Banana Pak Rs 112/82, Banana India Rs 147/115, Guava 115/, Pomegranate Rs 237/188, Special Kino Rs 187/148, Pear China Rs 155/125, Melon Rs 65/45, Strawberry Rs 187/148 and Water Melon Rs 35/31.

The people are advised to ensure that they purchase vegetables and fruits as per rate list and inform authorities at 051-4867762 in case of any complaint against shopkeepers.
