Steel cutting ceremony of PNS Shamsheer held

The steel cutting ceremony of 2nd sword class ship PNS Shamsheer was held at Hudong Zhongua Shipyard, Shanghai, China. The ceremony was performed by CNO (China) Commodore Shafqat Jawed in a simple ceremony attended by the members of PN mission, officials of CSTC and HZ Shipyard, says a message received from Shanghai.
PNS Shamsheer is planned to be launched in 2008, which will be equipped with state of the art weapons and sensor systems. The ships will be embarked by new Z9EC ASW helicopters, which are also being manufactured in China. PNS Shamsheer is the second of sword class ship.
