The Karachi Port handled 72,278 tonnes cargo including 48,411 tonnes import, 23,867 tonnes export cargo and 3,933 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 69,378 tonnes dry cargo including 41,518 tonnes general cargo; 9,398 tonnes fertiliser; 13,046 tonnes coal; 5,416 tonnes cement and 2,900 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Hyundai Future, Gulf Bridge, Jiao Cheng, Sinai, Igwt, Adriatic Arrow, Split and Makran sailed out to sea during the report period.
Eight vessels viz Mary-H, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Dimitris Y II, Cruiser, Ocean Dominence, Sea Glory, Gemini and Valentine-1 are currently at the berths. Six ships namely Geo Searcher, Christin Debora, Dimitris Y II, Sea Glory, Oel Esteem and Ocean Dominence expected to sail on Saturday, while three vessels viz Jade Trader, Pacheco and Gemini expected to sail on Sunday.
Four vessels viz Global Union, Oel Shreyas, Iron Butterfly and Puma due to arrive on Saturday, while ten ships namely C Felix, Peterpaul, Global Prince, Ninos, Kama Bhum, Faderal St. Laurent, Pacific Champ, Valbella, Red Sea Spirit and Caribbean Carrier are due to arrive on Sunday. Two ships namely Kuo Chang and Corinthiakos are due to arrive on Monday.
One vessel viz M.T. Negotiator sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total of three ships carrying containers, chemicals and iron ore are currently at the outer anchorage.
Six vessels viz C.V. Emirates Adam, C.V. CSAV Ningbo, M.T. Negotiator, M.T. Grigoroussa-1, M.V. Delta Ranger and M.V. Guang Meng Feng are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, edible oil, furnace oil, coal and coke respectively during last 24 hours. Four ships due to take berths at Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal and Fotco Oil Terminal on Saturday. Four ships namely C.V. MSC Germany, MT Pegasus, M.T. Gemini and M.V. Centurion with containers, edible oil and iron ore are due to arrive on Saturday.
