Rush in banks for cash

There was big rush at most commercial bank branches in the city to draw cash. Sunday is weekly holiday and Monday July 2, 2007 will be closed for public dealings. All commercial branch managers of banks in the city were ensuring proper adjustment of loans and advances by the different clients.
Various government offices saw maximum activity at the level of the drawing and disbursing officers who had to forward last minute bills for clearance to the A.G. Office. It is believed that several federal departments have not been able to utilise the full amount of the development funds made available to them. Many commercial bank branches in the city worked after closing hours to adjust their accounts.
