The Accountability Court-I, Karachi, Judge Syed Aale Maqbool Rizvi on Saturday deferred judgement to July 2 in a reference filed by National Accountability Bureau against Sindh Assembly Speaker Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Rasool Bux Rahoo and others in 'illegal allotment' of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) land case.
According to the reference, the accused were charged with allotting KPT land measuring 75 acres at Mai Kolachi Road, Karachi, at throwaway prices, causing huge loss to national exchequer.
The case was transferred to NAB from the Anti-Corruption Court. Meanwhile, the same court remanded two suspects to police custody till July 13, 2007 in an NAB reference. Accused Abdul Rehman and Zulfiqar, employees of National Bank Ltd, Shikarpur branch, are charged with misappropriating Rs 220 million in GDP funds of bank employees.
