Acting Chief Justice Rana Bhagwandas has constituted three benches of the Supreme Court (SC) including 13-member larger bench for the next week, starting from July 2 for the hearing of hundreds of cases at Islamabad.
According to the list by the SC Fixture Department, two benches comprising Justice Rana Bhagwandas and Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan (Bench-I) and Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Falak Sher (Bench-II) will hear hundreds of cases here. However, Justice Abdul Hameed will not sit in the bench on Monday.
A special 13-member larger bench headed by Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday comprising Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice M. Javed Buttar, Justice Tassadduque Hussain Jillani, Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed, Justice Syed Jamshed Ali, Ad-hoc Justice Ghulam Rabbani and ad-hoc Justice Hamid Ali Mirza will hear constitutional petition filed by Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in the SC under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution.
On the directive of the Acting Chief Justice, the Fixture Department has already mentioned on the top of cause list that "No application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case."
