The Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned till September 27 the proceedings in a contempt petition filed against Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and directed the respondent officials to regularise the petitioner Nazir and others working as passenger services assistants.
The court also directed the respondents to appear before the court on next date of hearing and explain their position if they failed to implement the court orders.
The petitioners had approached the court against PIA for not regularising them. The court had directed the respondents to regularise the petitioners but they failed to implement the court orders in letter and spirit.
The petitioners approached the court again in contempt of court and prayed to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondents. The court however giving last chance to the respondents adjourned the proceedings till next date of hearing and directed them to implement the court orders in letter and spirit.
