The new airport will be equipped with sate-of-art facilities for maximum comfort and convenience of passengers by Incorporating international standard construction reflecting the culture and heritage of Pakistan. The new airport will be designed and constructed with a capacity to handle an annual traffic of 5 million passengers and 50,000 tonnes of cargo. This will be upgraded to 10 million passengers and 100,000 metric tones cargo in due course of time.
The airport will be designed keeping in view of the requirements of air traffic and passenger flow. The airport is land-locked and located in the middle of densely populated area as a result these is no room for further expansion.
