Water situation in the country has improved significantly says a press release issued by Indus River System Authority (Irsa) It said considerable improvement is observed in all major rivers and rim station inflows has increased to 287,000 cusecs from 258,000 cusecs, a day earlier.
The storage position is also satisfactory and about 2 million acre feet (MAF) more water is available as compared with last year. The temperature at Skardu has arisen to 32.8 degree C, which hopefully would create heavy inflows in Indus River.
The provinces are in receipt of their indented supplies, which is 10 percent more than that of last year. Release for provinces are: Punjab 128,000 cusecs, Sindh 170,000, Balochistan 12,000 cusecs and NWFP 3,000 cusecs, while the total figure is 313,000 cusecs.
