LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that unusual climatic changes were happening on ground due to increase in unnatural activities.
In his message on the occasion of earth hour here, he said that earth hour reminded of adopting collective efforts to save the environment.
"We need to play individual as well as collective role to save land from environmental disasters," he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said that purpose of celebrating earth hour was to create awareness about hazards of environmental degradation for earth, raise voice for saving it against possible dangers, and give a message of love for soil.
The Chief Minister said the Punjab government was taking steps in the right direction to remain safe from the environmental pollution and the steps for saving the land from pollution were included in governmental priorities.
He further said that effective steps were needed for protection of earth and environment against increasing global temperature.
He said, "Today we have to reiterate our love for the planet."
