The District Management Group (DMG) Association, Islamabad Chapter has demanded of the government to hold a judicial inquiry by a High Court judge into killing of one of its members and Additional Registrar Supreme Court Sayed Hamad Amjad Raza.
The DMG Association held an emergent meeting at the Committee Room of Ministry of Housing and Works here on Wednesday to chalk out their future line of action to protect themselves from outside pressures. The officers felt dejected, anguished, threatened in the wake of present state of law and order apprehending that it was becoming increasingly impossible for them to perform their duties conscientiously, legally, and honestly.
The DMG association formed a two-member committee to monitor and pursue the murder investigation by police and decided to wear black bands throughout the country.
The DMG serving and retired officers are also holding a national reference for Hamad to comfort and look after welfare of the bereaved family. The DMG associations of Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta chapters also scheduled similar condolence meetings. Hamad Raza, who was shot dead at his residence by unknown assassins, was working as Additional Registrar Supreme Court.
Taking suo motu notice of the murder of the court officer, Chief Justice Rana Bhagwandas has nominated two senior judges of the Supreme Court, Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, to examine the reports, monitor investigation and pass appropriate orders on judicial side, since the incident directly related to the apex court.
